CSIRO releases dielectric measurement brochure for drill cutting samples

THE CSIRO has released a brochure outlining the range of dielectric measurement options for rock samples it offers.

The Petrophysics Laboratory at CSIRO Petroleum Resources says it offers a range of dielectric measurement options in a broad frequency range for solid and drill cutting samples.

The organisation says dielectric properties of rock are indicators of wettability, porosity, mineralogy, pore structure and pore geometry.

Dielectric logging is rapid and can be used to determine moisture content and mechanical properties of rock where other techniques are slower and less cost effective.

This brochure outlines the dielectric equipment, services and facilities available at the Petrophysics Laboratory at CSIRO Petroleum Resources.
